The Principal's of our firm, Stewart Michel and Tammy White, have over 40 years of combined legal experience and are supported by a staff of competent and experienced conveyancers and para legals, all of whom are eager to assist in any legal matter you might have.
THE PARTNERS
STEWART MICHEL
Michel and White Lawyers is a practice that was initially established by Stewart Michel in 1984 in Gunnedah after practicing in Sydney and prior to that as a clerk of the Local Court and Coroner for the Department of Attorney General of Justice.
Stewart has a particular interest in Family Law Property Matters, Criminal Law, Insurance and Commercial Litigation, Wills and Estates, Residential and Complex Rural Conveyancing Matters, Commercial Leases and Business Sales and Purchases.
TAMMY WHITE
Tammy has a degree in Modern Asian Studies which she utilised while working in Papua New Guinea and then in the Northern Territory as a journalist.
Tammy moved to Walgett in North Western NSW where she worked as a journalist before gaining employment as a Paralegal with the legal firm of Browne, Jeppesen & Sligar. During this time she completed her Law Degree whilst also helping to run the family farm.

In over twenty years of legal practice, Tammy has developed a particular interest in Family Law, Criminal Law, Rural Issues, Conveyancing, Civil Litigation and Children's Issues.

SARAH RALSTON
Sarah joined Michel + White Lawyers in 2021, spending a year as a paralegal before being admitted as a solicitor in 2022.

Sarah grew up in Quipolly and loves to travel. She is committed to helping clients with their legal needs efficiently and compassionately.
​
Sarah has developed a particular interest in Family Law Matters and Wills and Estates.
JENNIFER MUDDLE
Jen joined Michel + White Lawyers in September 2019 as a legal secretary and has since become an invaluable member of our team.
​
She has a varied background in administration, accounts and customer service.
​
Jen is a Gunnedah local with strong knowledge of and commitment to the local community.
ANGELA GRIFFIN
Angela has fifteen years experience working in legal offices in Gunnedah performing a number of different roles in both admin and as a para legal.
She is our indispensable Office Manager, technological expert and is able to assist with a wide range of initial legal enquiries.
TALIE SAWYER
Talie has a lengthy history as a paralegal and is a valued member of our conveyancing team.

She understands that everyone's needs are different when it comes to buying and selling property and aims to make your experience as smooth and uncomplicated as possible.

KERRY TOWNS
Kerry joined Michel + White Lawyers in August 2023 as a bookkeeper and in January 2024 also became a member of our conveyancing team. She has 30 years experience in legal firms.

Kerry is a Gunnedah local with extensive knowledge of the area and seeks to help clients by taking the stress out of their conveyancing matters.

Sam joined our team in 2023, bringing over 15 years experience in adminstration.
Sam is the friendly face who greets you at our front desk, and is happy to assist with all your initial enquiries.
